BEDAT & Co SPONSORED A SCULPTURE OF CIRQUE DU SOLEIL 'DUO MAINTENANT" FOR THE WOMANITY FOUNDATION
February 3rd, 2014 (Carouge, Geneva, Switzerland) - The Womanity Foundation welcomed an enthusiastic crowd of over 1000 guests to its biannual fundraising gala on the night of 30‐31st January 2014. A record amount of CHF 2 million was collected during the evening. These revenues are entirely dedicated to fund programs in support of disadvantaged women and girls conducted by Womanity and its partners in Afghanistan, Brazil, India, and the Middle East and North Africa region, and elsewhere.
“What a night! We are immensely privileged to have such generous and faithful supporters,” says Yann Borgstedt, founder and chairman of the Womanity Foundation. “The honorary committee members, the artists and performers, the guests, my team– everyone contributed hugely to making this a memorable and successful event. I am deeply grateful for the great demonstration of solidarity we received.”
Works of contemporary art, including a dazzling portrait of Brigitte Bardot painted live by Michael Raivard and a sculpture of the Duo MainTenanT by a renowned international sculptor Eleanor Cardozo- sponsored by BEDAT & Co GEVÈVE were auctioned under the powerful hammer of Simon De Pury.
We, BEDAT & Co GENÈVE, are very proud of our heritage, of where we come from, of our DNA, for it defines who we are as a brand and it provides us with moral compass, which guides our development and point us to the right direction as we continue to move forward.
The values that our founder Madame Simone Bédat instilled in us go deep beyond the surface- they are wrapping around every touch point of our brand. It is because of this conviction that we searched for long and hard when it comes to choose an organization to support: one who would embody the emotional values that Madame Simone Bédat held so dearly when she, as the Swiss Timepiece Industries leading female executive, harnessed her lifetime to experience, expertise and understanding the needs of women and took them to the giant industries.
The values she displayed in launching a Swiss Luxury Timepiece Brand excelled the highest standard of craftsmanship expected by the world and bore her the name – BEDAT & Co GENÈVE. Today we are very proud to have found it.
The Womanity Foundation (formerly the Smiling Children Foundation) is an independent private foundation established in 2005.
