Mezzo Soprano Carly Paoli meets Prince Albert of Monaco and awarded with art work by Oscar-winner’s wife
BEDAT & CO Brand Ambassador Carly Paoli was given an audience with Prince Albert of Monaco, following her live performance in the Principality. The 26-year-old mezzo soprano enjoyed a personal meeting with the Prince following her performance at Monaco’s Le Chapiteau de l’Espace and was also presented with a painting from Oscar-winning actor Robert Redford’s wife as a thank you for her charity work.
The gift was presented with a personal message from the actor’s artist wife Sybylle Szaggars-Redford at a private dinner hosted by luxury Swiss watch brand Bedat & CO - Geneve. It read: "Carly, this is a gift to you from Sibylle to say thank you for all that you do for children of the world.”
Afterwards Miss Paoli, who was made an ambassador for global children’s charity UNICEF in June, said: “I was so touched to receive this beautiful gift from Sibylle.
“Anything that celebrates women and their contribution to the world, is for me, an echo of the ideals of Bedat & CO founder Madame Simone Bedat.
“Gifts like this not only honour me, but also Madame Bedat’s incredible legacy. This is something I am proud to continue and feel blessed to be part of.”
Earlier in the evening Miss Paoli was given a standing ovation after performing a 45- minute showcase of songs from her forthcoming album for distinguished Bedat & CO guests at Le Chapiteau de l’Espace in Fontvieille, one of Monaco’s most prestigious venues.
Established in 1986, Le Chapiteau de l’Espace was created and designed for Prince Albert’s late father, Prince Rainier of Monaco.
Miss Paoli, dressed in an exquisite gown by designers Ralph & Russo, was accompanied on stage by the renowned Italian composer Romano Musumarra and a 30-piece orchestra.
The fundraising gala dinner also included a silent auction featuring work donated by Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Robert Redford.
The event came weeks after Miss Paoli, who was appointed Bedat & Co. Brand Ambassador in September 2014, gave a triumphant performance at Terme Di
Caracalla in Rome where she hosted an evening with Three Tenors’ legend Jose Carreras and Andrea Bocelli.
The Monaco event also included a fashion show and exclusive preview of the new collection from Swiss luxury watch brand, Bedat & CO - Geneve, makers of fine timepieces for women.
Since making her international debut in 2014 Carly Paoli has emerged as one of the world’s most talented artists, performing at a string of high profile events. In June 2014 the star performed a private show for Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle.
That was followed by The Fight Night Gala in Florence where Carly was given a standing ovation following her performance with Andrea Bocelli and conductor Zubin Mehta at the event that raised $12.5m for charity.
Later this month Miss Paoli will perform two dates at New York’s world-renowned Carnegie Hall on October 27 and Boston’s prestigious Jordan Hall on October 30 2015 supported by the Korean Chamber Orchestra. Miss Paoli’s live performances will be part of the 50thanniversary world tour of the Korean Chamber Orchestra.
